Born in the city of Laredo, Texas to parents who have strong ties to the art world, Jesa was always encouraged to pursue her dreams. After graduating from high school in 2011, she attended the University of Texas at Austin where she majored in East Asian Studies and minored in Spanish Language and Literature. Her love for travel and culture led her to study abroad in Spain for a year, which further exposed her to the beauty and culture of Latin America. After returning home, Jesa decided to take a break from college and travel throughout Mexico for six months. This trip would be pivotal in shaping Jesaaelys future; while traveling she met a French man named Eric who would later become her husband.

Upon their return home, Eric encouraged Jesaaelys to pursue a career in fashion photography. She enrolled in the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) where she studied under some of the industry’s top photographers.
